Course Description:
This course is designed to introduce students to the field of Christian apologetics. It will equip them to present a rational defense of the Christian faith and to lead others to Jesus winsomely. Topics to explore include the existence and nature of God, the relationship between science and Christianity, the problem of suffering and evil, religious pluralism, religious exclusivity, the trustworthiness of the Bible, the historicity of Jesus's resurrection, and various cultural issues
Course Objectives:
This course will equip students to
- Understand the nature and role of apologetics in evangelistic dialogue
- Identify and respond to objections of unbelievers
- Articulate a thoughtful case for Christianity
- Winsomely point others to the gospel of Jesus as our greatest need
Course Requirements:
- Attendance: Attend the class
- Reading: Read the textbooks
- Presentation: Give a presentation on a chosen subject
- Quizzes: Take quiz based on your readings
- Discussion Forum: Post your answers and respond to other classmates’ posts
- For each session, answer two of the answers/objections and list one or two takeaways from that week’s Tactics reading. And respond to at least one classmate’s post.
